U W-MADISON DIV. CONTINUING STUDIES Instrumentation Engineer in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Pegasus research group in the Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics Department, UW Madison is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to provide support for these heating and current drive systems and the broader experimental facility. The Pegasus-III Experiment is an ultra-low aspect ratio spherical tokamak located at the College of Engineering of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The experiment is the only solenoid-free tokamak in the world and uses local helicity injection to initiate plasmas. The group will soon be installing coaxial helicity injection and a microwave system. Plasma physics research goals include the investigation of non-solenoidal plasma startup techniques, studies of impurities during plasma ramp-up, development of models to scale these systems to larger scale devices. Work Type: Full Time: 100% It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
